Teresa is a dedicated Finance Manager in Fairfax County’s Human Resources Department, navigating budgets and spreadsheets with precision and heart. Beyond the numbers, she’s Laughs by Teresa, a frugal humorist who celebrates the glorious, uncalculated mess of real life.

Hailing from the Philippines, Teresa taught ESL to adult learners at low-beginning and intermediate levels for over a decade, starting as a volunteer with the Arlington Education and Employment Program (REEP) in Arlington County Public Schools’ Adult Education. She led nightly classes while working full-time as an accountant in Arlington County’s Office of the Treasurer. An introvert who mastered English as her second language, she believes learning—language or finance—shouldn’t feel like punishment. In her life, the unbalanced ledger budget barks and beautifully imperfect living are just another chapter. Now, she transforms adulting’s chaos, from tricky budgets to her dog Sansa’s chicken-stealing escapades, into witty, heartfelt stories.
